It seems that Time Quotes is one of those “must haves” of our culture. No matter what we are doing, we seem to always need to be thinking of having a quick sayings or quotes attributed to us. We can thank Mr. Twain for the quote: “A man’s got to do what he can, though it hurt his pride & feelings.” I think most people can appreciate this. But how about when we are in the midst of an emergency? Here, we’ “ve collated the greatest time quotes from some of the brightest and greatest minds in human history.
One of our most favorite Time Quotes, as recorded by Henry Ford himself, is “The race is on to produce the cars that will perform better than the Oldsmobile.” Now, this is a very wise quote, as the car is still one of the most unreliable things around, and many people cannot afford the luxury of owning one. However, if we were to make a wish, it would surely be possible to build cars that would out-perform the Oldsmobile. Therefore, instead of throwing away our money on the Oldsmobile, why not spend it on building cars that will out-perform the Oldsmobile? It just makes sense, doesn’t it?
An additional famous Time Quotes is one by Henry Ford: “I have a dream that one day the assembly line will be as clean and orderly as a church.” What a wonderful thought, and yet, it seems that it never happened. The Ford assembly line still consisted of all sorts of people who did not have a vision of a perfect work place. They merely took the work orders that came down the pike. This is a prime example of waste, and waste is what we call a waste of time. And yet, Henry Ford might have been an exception, had he known how to maximize the efficiency with which his assembly line ran.
I am reminded of two famous Time Quotes: “A year from now you will wish you had spent more time on time management.” And: “A day will come when the entire population of Harvard will wish they had spent more time on time management.” Can you see where the conflict lies? Is it not obvious that the man who said the first sentence was a pessimist, while the second sentence was an optimist?
One might say that we are living in an age when people are so busy with their schedules that they have forgotten the true purpose of life, which is: to serve mankind. If this is true, then perhaps we ought to be thankful that Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, and others have said that the time management of today’s generation needs to be improved. These great men did not waste their time by complaining. Rather, each one of them worked diligently to produce more time, for the benefit of everyone. Each of these great men were more successful than their fellow man because they used the time wisely.
Of course, I have never heard of any of these great men using time wisely. Benjamin Franklin could be accused of wasting a lot of time chatting with drunkards, as was Henry Ford. However, these quotes, while not about the topic at hand, do express a philosophy of life. The philosophy of life is: “Thou shall live as a man, not as a God.” It is amazing how many people today, whether they realize it or not, think that their lives are just a continuation of some other person’s life.
In fact, I can give you numerous examples of real-life time quotes from famous people all over the world. All of these quotes could be said by any famous personality, as they are saying them today. Whether you will believe that Napoleon Hill was the first to organize and define the Law of Success, or if you will believe that Al Pacino’s character from Any Given Sunday is the first to use the quote, one thing is clear: Both the great minds of yesterday and today are saying something very similar.
No matter which school of thought you decide to favor, one thing is clear. People are using time quotes to teach us valuable lessons in life. Think about the quote by Napoleon Hill: “Successful men dream, but they do not sleep.” Or look at the example of Al Pacino’s character from Some Like it Hot: “All you’ve got to do is get busy and make it happen.” And let’s not forget that the great composers of the past, such as music masterpieces like Mozart, were once regular guys who went to daily ten cents theaters to see a play and master their craft.

“For what it’s worth: it’s never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. “I sit beside the fire and think
Of all that I have seen
Of meadow flowers and butterflies
In summers that have been
Of yellow leaves and gossamer
In autumns that there were
With morning mist and silver sun
And wind upon my hair
I sit beside the fire and think
Of how the world will be
When winter comes without a spring
That I shall ever see
For still there are so many things
That I have never seen
In every wood in every spring
There is a different green
I sit beside the fire and think
Of people long ago
And people that will see a world
That I shall never know
But all the while I sit and think
Of times there were before
I listen for returning feet
And voices at the door”
― J.R.R. Tolkien

“It’s being here now that’s important. There’s no past and there’s no future. Time is a very misleading thing. All there is ever, is the now. We can gain experience from the past, but we can’t relive it; and we can hope for the future, but we don’t know if there is one.”
